FAW WOMENS CUP FINAL CARDIFF CITY V UWIC
Cardiff City Ladies won the Women's Cup against a spirited UWIC Ladies in Bridgend on Sunday, 18th April.
The holders of the competition retained their Trophy with a 6-0 win at the Brewery Field, Bridgend on a fine afternoon, in terms of quality of football and weather.
The students from UWIC battled well and played their part in a good final, especially during a competitive first-half. Skipper Naomi Clipston looked bright in the opening quarter for the students and Lauren Welsh and Natalie Shenton both impressed, but the strength in depth of the Cardiff squad proved to be too good on the day.
The score probably flattered Cardiff as UWIC battled until the final whistle, but Michelle Adams' team were worthy winners and they remain unbeaten in this competition for an incredible eight seasons.
